Suggestions To The Property Owner
On How To Help Sell Your Property
- Tidy up the grounds, porches and garages. Keep the lawn and shrubs trimmed and make sure that your yard
is clean of all refuse.
- Your front door gives a vital first impression. Be sure it is clean or painted if necessary. In addition, have
all outside lighting in working order for those evening showings.
- Dress up windows in freshly laundered curtains and window treatments. Keep them open!
- If any decoration is needed (especially in the kitchen), do it now! $100 worth of paint may save you
$500 in price reduction. Bathrooms help sell homes - so make these rooms sparkle!
- Keep all steps clear of hazards.
- Don't forget to have all light sockets filled with bulbs.
Illumination is like a welcome sign. A potential
buyer will feel a glowing warmth when you turn on all your lights for an evening showing.
- Wash dishes, put away cloths, straighten up newspapers, etc.
- Make up bed, with attractive spreads.
- Keep pets out of the way for showings. One type of prospect may be annoyed, or attention may be diverted.
- Avoid having too many people present during inspections. The potential buyer may feel like
an intruder and will hurry through the home.
- Never apologize for appearance. It only accentuates or distracts.
- Never try to sell personal property to a customer before the deal is completed.
